You’re preordering a pair of Afterlife Carbon sunglasses - the first production run ever. These are handcrafted from recycled performance carbon fibre and represent the beginning of our design evolution.

The images on this page show our working prototype (Re)Orbit, which is for sale on this site. The product you're pre-ordering will be the same style. However, due to the unique nature of the carbon fibre reclamation process and the way the frames are handcrafted, each pair will look subtly different.

Orders will start shipping in May 2026. Each stage - from carbon fibre reclamation to final assembly - will be documented and shared with you through exclusive production updates.

These are made from 99.8% recycled material. Because of its true recycled nature, the material has come from many different original sources, each with their own properties. The "fluffy" bits you see are where the combined materials have slightly different properties. We see them as a feature, rather than a bug, because you know you're holding a sustainable product. The 0.2% remaining? It's an antioxidant used to protect the material from UV light.

The material is processed by hand in small batch fibre reclamation and preparation. Each pair is then individually handcrafted and quality checked. These things take time. We don't compromise on the process and will make certain you receive a product of the highest quality.

If you're not satisfied with your sunglasses, let us know within 30 days of receiving them. We will be happy for you to return them unused, with the original packaging for a full refund. We will even provide a free return shipping label.

All materials come from end-of-life performance products, in this instance bike frames bikes and oars. We reclaim the fibres through our recycling process. Every pair gives high-performance carbon fibre a new life, rather than being forgotten in landfill.

We're starting small because we're focused on quality, not volume. 

Each pair includes an NFC chip embedded in the frame. Open our app, tap the frame with your phone, and see the exact story of your sunglasses: where the carbon fibre came from, which equipment it was originally part of, and the athlete/team who used it.

Yes. When you pre-order, you'll select your material type: (Re)Framed (bike frames), (Re)Rowed (rowing oars), or future options. Each material type has its own story and scarcity (500 pairs per type).

No. This is our first run of 500 pairs to prove the model works. After May 2026 delivery, we'll pause. New material types and designs will launch in the latter half of 2026 and the start of 2027 based on customer feedback.
